According to the Global Semiconductor Association (SEMI), Vietnam’s semiconductor market is projected to reach $7.01 billion by 2028, with an average annual growth rate of about 6.69% from 2023 to 2028. Vietnam is emerging as a promising destination in the semiconductor industry, driven by strong development and bright prospects.

Mr. Huy Vu, Director of the National Innovation Center, highlighted that Vietnam has a tremendous opportunity to deepen its involvement in the semiconductor sector, especially as many global companies are shifting investments to Asian countries, including Vietnam, to diversify supply chains post-COVID-19.

At a press conference for the SemiExpo Vietnam 2024 Semiconductor Industry Exhibition, Mr. Huy noted that the Vietnamese government has been actively collaborating with leading tech corporations to develop a robust semiconductor ecosystem and a skilled workforce. The exhibition is part of Vietnam’s strategy to grow its semiconductor industry by fostering investment connections between domestic and international businesses.

Linda Tan, President of SEMI Southeast Asia, emphasized that SemiExpo Vietnam 2024 is a milestone event, underscoring Vietnam’s growing role in the global semiconductor supply chain. With government support and rapid ecosystem development, Vietnam is well-positioned to make significant contributions to the global market.
